What genre do you like ?

#1 Post by Liexo » Wed Aug 16, 2017 1:48 pm

Well, obviously, I do like M/M. A lot. It's been my main read for a few years. ;)

I actually like a lot of genres: romance, historical romance, mystery, young adult,.. Science fiction is ok, but it really depends on the story. Fantasy books are cool too ! :D

I absolutely won't read horror though. Huh-huh. No way. Zombies ? Nope. Not my thing.
Biographies, sports and politics are also a big no-no, although I've been known to read the odd 16th century Renaissance bios. At first for university (history of arts and archaeology) but then I found out that I liked them, so I read a few more.

Mystery. Especially noir. Horror tends to be boring. Most don't do it right for me. However Gaiman's zombie wife in American Gods is a different story. And the TV version does it well.

The book and the show are so well done, I can't tell if I watched it or if it was in the book. That's how close they are. Unlike.. sniff... Midnight, Texas... sniff where the show outshines the book for me.

I am with you Liexo - I will not read horror, but I will try anything else provided it is MM :)

YES. Charlene Harris always screws the pooch in her books. Her plotting is underwhelming.

I don't think I've read Charlene Harris, Phil - what does she write?

I can't think of the name in English. There's a series with Sookie Stackhouse and I think they made a series out of it.
